We are planning to build a new bathroom/wet-room in our home and want to use slate tile flooring. We like the flat texture of Honed Slate, but worry this will be too slippery when wet. Which black slate would you recommend for a wet-room that is not rough under foot but also not slippery when wet? I think normal calibrated slate could be too uneven. Would Brushed Slate be a better choice?Read now

What Brazilian slate and adhesive products will be best for an area which is prone to flooding?
Read nowI am looking for a slate product that I can use in a wet room.
We are very close to the sea and it has been known for high tides to bring water up through the drains / floor so it would need to be very hard wearing.
Preference would be for a multicoloured slate not black.
Also advice on adhesives. Thanks

How long should it take for the adhesive to dry in colder weather?
How long does it take fast curing adhesive to go off in cold weather , it says 3 hours at 20 c for light foot traffic and 24 for heavy traffic a few of our slates have popped off although we left it for 6 hours before light traffic , the adhesive still looks like it hasn't cured properly after nearly 60 hours, does cold weather retard it for that long and if so how long should we leave it before light traffic and heavy traffic ? The adhesive is sticking to the floor but not the slates although there is good contact ,we have been wiping the grinding residue off the back of the slates with a damp sponge is it advisable to let the slates dry fully before fixing we have been buttering the backs of the slates as well as the floor. Thank you for any adviceRead now -

Could you tell me which sealant was used on this, the oil based one or the water based one?

Do I need to grout Brazilian Multicolour slate cladding panels?
Read nowHi we are about to purchase some tiles (stepped slate wall cladding panel Brazilian multlicolour) from yourselves for our dining room wall.
It is a chimney breast wall.
We had intended to butt the edges of the tiles together to create a clean finish (like in the picture), is this possible and if not, do we grout in between the tiles?
Look forward to answer!

How do I remove silicone sealant from my Brazilian slate floor tiles?
Read nowHi we have some lovely slate floor tiles in our bathroom and we would love to keep them as we are redecorating.
However where the bath was there is silicone sealant on them and I can't seem to remove it without scratching the tile.
Could you help me out of what product we need to help remove this silicone?
