What products should I use to install my Brazilian Brushed slate onto a marine ply floor?

I recently received a sample of your antique brushed Brazilian black slate and had some questions before I placed an order.

What products did you use to treat the slate as I would like to achieve the same finish on the floor.

Also which bonding agent, adhesive and grout would you recommend, the tiles will be laid onto a marine ply floor with under floor heating in a kitchen.

Hello James

All of our samples are pre-sealed with the mattstone sealer to show the post installation look.

For tiling onto a marine ply substrate with underfloor heating we would firstly recommend sealing the ply with 2 neat coats of the acrylic bonding and priming agent. The Ultimate flex adhesive will be necessary for tiling onto a wooden substrate and is also great for under-floor heating installations.

The grout colour would be a personal preference but I would say that the good majority of customers who buy a Brazilian Black slate have used the charcoal grout. It will be necessary to add the Maxigrout liquid additive to the grout for tiling onto an under-floor heating system for extra flexibility.
