Split face tiles in a shower

Split faced slate tiles are not suitable for a shower enclosure or a wall where they will come into direct contact with water.

The panels are made up of individual pieces which are impossible to grout. There are very small gaps between some of the pieces in the panel which could allow water to seep through.

Any water ingress will cause damage to the substrate below & possibly cause the tiles to 'pop' away from the wall.
