Do your slate tiles require sealing and are they suitable for indoor AND outdoor use?

Hello Steph It is recommended to seal all natural stone installed both indoors and out to protect it from staining and to aid the maintenance of the stone, this topic is discussed further in our Natural Stone Aftercare: Sealing and Maintaining post on our blog. Brazilian natural riven slate is great for use outdoors due to its natural anti-slip properties, which is great for creating a seamless tiling surface spanning both in and outdoors. Depending on the base you are installing onto outside, you will either use the 10mm thick (min onto a solid concrete base) or the external pavers (20-30mm thick onto a type 1 mot base).
