How representative are your 10x10 samples of the actual stone we will receive in our order?

I have received some samples from you of the black and grey Brazilian paving slabs. I love the colour and surface feel of the grey slate and am very interested in this product. I have spent a lot of time researching and looking for stone for a patio project I am hoping to complete at home this summer and your Brazilian grey slate is the closest product I have seen that fits my requirements - natural stone product, uniform grey colour, smoothish surface finish.

How representative is the 10 x 10 cm sample of a whole paving slab? I was expecting a slightly riven surface whereas the sample I have received is completely smooth. If I ordered and paid for a larger sample would I see any difference in the surface?

If I travelled to you would I be able to see this paving laid out and over what area? Do you have this paving available to view anywhere closer to postcode area TN2? Can you give an indication of the delivery charges of 80 square metres of this product to TN2 (Brazilian grey slate - 600 x 290)? I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Alison

All of our samples are cut from actual tiles taken from the pallets we ship orders from. Due to the fact that all of our products are natural, there will always be potential variances with respect to colour, riven texture and thickness when talking about the Brazilian slate whether it be an outdoor paver or an indoor tile but also fossil distribution when considering a limestone tiles. In essence the samples we send to our customers are a 10x10 piece cut from a whole tile which in itself will have variances over the rest of the tile so it is unrealistic to expect that every single tile within your order will look exactly like the 10x10 sample as there will always be slight variances as explained above.

Mrs Stone Store have of course carefully selected the pictures on our website to give as good a representation of the potential variances you will find within a whole pallet and subsequent floor or wall project to give our customers as clear an idea as is possible but of course with the product being 'Natural' this will not always be exhaustive. We are more than happy to send out larger samples to customers to help with choosing a natural stone product by way of a full sized 300x300 sample at a cost of £15.00; these are sent via courier service.

If it is that you would like to order larger samples of the pavers, these generally will have to be shipped via the pallet method due to weight restrictions for the courier service, costs for this service will depend on the postcode, the overall weight of the samples you wish us to send but further details can be found by calling our sales team on 01283 730388.

Customers are of course always welcome to visit our warehouse to satisfy yourself with respect to products, Monday to Friday between 9-4pm or Saturdays 9-11.30 where our sales team will be happy to help you in the showroom or around the warehouse with any questions you may have regarding any of our tiles. Alternatively, if you have already made your choice or would like to compare prices for products and you would like our sales team to prepare a full quotation for you all you will need to do is email them or call the office on 01283 730388.
