What warranty is provided with the slate?

We are looking at the Brazilian Black Slate Pavers for an external garden project - please could you let me know what warranty is provided with the slate.

In addition, what if any problems should we be aware of regarding laying the slate and any going maintenance issues.

Thank you very much for your question.

Owing to the products we sell being natural stone, we do not offer warranties for the tiles. We do however offer CE data sheets for all products which outlines the details of specific independent testing to show that our tiles are fit for their intended purpose.

We are aware of companies that do offer warranties and guarantees but these will generally come with caveats that will exclude the stone itself as there are so many variables which cannot be controlled or foreseen under certain site conditions. The warranties will therefore generally cover the 'workmanship' involved with the installation of the stone and not the stone itself.

With respect to the installation of the pavers, these should be cut with a water fed cutter with a good diamond tip blade, laid onto a suitably prepared Type 1 MOT base and fixed with either a dry mix or a wet cement mix with a plasticiser additive. Natural stone will need to be completely clean before the first seal (before grouting) and then again when applying the final seal. Natural stone should be cleaned with an appropriate PH neutral natural stone cleaner to help maintain the seal.
