Tile weights

The wall we want to tile is inside our conservatory that had a brick inside but we had insulated and filled in roof and we think the gyproc was dot and dabbed on the walls presently they have been wallpapered we would be putting approx 8 sq metres on wall of the split brick 13mm thick tiles what prep should you do and would this be strong enough to hold the tiles.

Wherever possible always overboard the wall with a tile backer board.

This will increase the surface weight tolerance from 20kg per m2 to up to 42kg per m2.

As natural stone wall tiles can weigh up to 36kg, you are increasing the integrity of the adhesion by installing the backer board.
