Are Brazilian slate tiles sharp underfoot?

I have bought Brazilian black slate for my kitchen and bathroom floor, however the edges seem quite sharp for barefoot, do these need to be ground down prior to installation? Thanks

Once the tiles are installed and grouted keeping the levels constant there should be no need to finish the edges of the tiles as they will not represent and kind of issue for barefeet.
