Are all honed tiles unsuitable for high traffic areas?

You mention, honed tiles should not be used in high traffic areas. I was thinking White Moleanos honed tiles for my kitchen would look lovely. However, If you do not recommend honed, what would you recommend for this area with a heavy footfall? I still would like the White Moleanos.

This rule only really applies to the honed tiles in slate. This is generally because slate is darker in colour than the limestone tiles and therefore scuffs and scratches are more visible than they would be on a lighter tile.
